When it comes to choosing a marketing strategy for your business, there are a ton of different options. Some are more useful than others, and not every strategy works equally well for all businesses. That said, for the business that wants to really connect to consumers and build an online presence, using Facebook as a part of your strategy is a must.

To start with, Facebook gives you access to an absolutely massive audience. It’s the biggest social network, with over 2.6 billion monthly users. While not all of them are people who you want to be targeting with your marketing strategy, that still gives you access to a far larger pool of prospective customers than you likely would have otherwise. Since Facebook lets you target reasonably specific groups of people with your ads, passing on this resource would be a pretty big mistake.

Given how easy it is to access the internet from virtually any location these days, it’s no surprise that people will turn to Google and social media to check companies out before deciding who to do business with. Consumers want to see the human side of a business. One of the benefits of being active on social media, especially Facebook, is getting the opportunity to showcase that aspect of your business. Facebook gives you the chance to share your content with consumers. It also gives them a way to get in touch with you via messenger, commenting on your business page, or commenting on your posts. The way you respond to customers who reach out can help you build a positive relationship with them, while at the same time building your brand’s personality and reputation.

Even if kids these days say that Facebook is irrelevant, that simply isn’t true when it comes to marketing your business. Facebook allows you to reach a massive audience, is an important place for reviews, and gives you a chance to build customer relationships. The possibility exists that some day Facebook may no longer have much of a place as people move on to other social media platforms, but at least for now, it’s here to stay.
